Kai Overton (England) Boston Snooker League star, Kye Overton has gained a place in the England Pool Squad (Juniors) after at trials in Leicester. He is highly regarded in the local pool and snooker leagues and represents Lincolnshire at pool.
In the recent pool exhibition match held at "The Sportsman", Kai played a best of seven match against former world champion Carl "Houdini" Morris for a £200 donation, made by local businessmen on the night to the "Hearing Dogs For The Blind" charity. Current world No. 4, Carl, who himself is deaf, took part at no charge with all proceeds of the evening going to the charity with almost £700 being raised at the event.
After winning the first frame comfortably, Kai went 2-1 down and looked to have levelled the match in frame two but as he potted his last ball with the black over the bag, the cue ball unbelieveably ran around four cushions and dropped in the middle bag to the disappointment of Kai's large band of vociferous supporters. Carl duly went on the take the frame and the match 4-1.
