ADMISSIONS TO THE SCHOOL

The school conforms to the admissions policy of the County Council and details of this are given elsewhere in the school prospectus.

The school has 135 places available in each year group. In the last academic year, the school was able to offer places to 81 pupils whose parents expressed Haven High as first choice for their child's secondary education. Further places were offered to pupils whose parents had nominated Haven High, but whose applications were received after the deadline.

An authorised absence* is recorded when a satisfactory explanation is received to explain why a pupil has been absent.

An unauthorised absence** is recorded when no acceptable explanation is received to indicate why a pupil has been absent.

Parents will understand that only the headteacher can decide whether or not to authorise an absence.
